All the stops were pulled out decor wise (200 stock-on rockit sperms anyone?) and once again the DJs shone though. i Editor’s Letter: Fatcat bankers
I am probably about to alienate a good proportion of i’s readers, old and new, but the two big stories this week about our so-called fatcat bankers have left me feeling more than a little uneasy.
I do not know Fred Goodwin or Stephen Hester, I don’t bank with RBS, I don’t hate bankers. I do feel they earn far too much for what appears often to be legitimised gambling; have a misplaced sense of importance, fund each other’s lives through non-executive directorships that ensure their club’s inflated rewards carousel keeps turning, benefit from a shameful lack of responsibility, and have too much influence over elected officials.
And yet… The lynch-mob baying for blood and subsequently rejoicing over both Hester declining his bonus and Goodwin being stripped of his knighthood leaves me distinctly uncomfortable on two fronts. I do not feel sorry for them. Money may not buy happiness, but it can buy a degree of privacy and security to help you through your dark days.
I am left far more uneasy by the baying pursuit of two men who have not done anything illegal, and also the triumphalistic manner in which both news stories were received. Both have now suffered a degree of embarrassment or financial penalty. So what? The stories do not show the Government acting on its promise to get tough with bankers. Nothing is solved. These are mere gestures. Hester doesn’t need the £963k, and Goodwin? We all surely know it’s just a silly title?
This is about the politics of envy and politicians getting easy hits in. These events do nothing to fix a system that is in dire need of overhaul. It’s just grand-standing, and we should not fall for it.

Hot on the heels of “Flangestock 2011 – the movie” comes “Flangestock 2011 – the final hour”. Recorded live & direct at an orchard in Suffolk, 17 September 2011.
Shouts to James Shaman for tech know how. Its a bit rough round the edges due to some serato-esque needle issues (personally I blame the flies), and if you weren’t there you might wonder why the volume cuts at various chorus points, safe to say if you were there you’ll understand why (you were filling in the gaps in true style!). Special shouts out to the dropping of Fantasy UFO – I swear I haven’t played that out in a set since 1990! You also get the closing credits from our beloved host and its worth it for that alone…..

How to copy key info from comments field to key field in Serato!

A while ago I finally, worked out how to copy all key info from the comments field to the key field in serato. Not sure why it took me so long as its blindingly obvious but I do know that no matter how I searched on Google for answers, I never found this easy method. So, here it is:
Assuming you have the key info currently written to your comments field….
- Sort all tracks by order of comments.
- Then select and highlight all 1A tracks (assuming your list of tracks starts at 1A)
- Once you have selected all those tracks marked 1A, double click in the key field of 1 of the tracks, enter 1A and press enter.
- Serato will ask you to confirm you want to update X amount of tracks. Click yes, and it will write 1A to the key field of all those tracks.
- Rinse & repeat.
*** Probably worth backing up everything first just in case you make an error and update a shitload of tracks with the wrong info. Try it with just a small selection first so you understand it.

After the DJing comes the campfire singalongs and a chance to chill at this beautiful site, bring guitars and tambourines!
No music on Sunday but you are welcome to stay and enjoy the site all day!
If you would like to book extra nights you can do that direct with the campsite. Some Flangestockers are staying an extra night on Sunday to further chill!
THE CAMPSITE
The festival takes place at an award winning campsite in Suffolk, your ticket price of £30 for the weekend includes full use of facilities – free hot showers, kitchen area with fridge and freezer and table tennis.
The campsite shop now has a full off licence, with beers, wines, ciders and local specialties. The shop has been extended so you won’t need to leave the site at all for provisions, seriously have a look before going to the supermarket, its very good value and some very tasty stuff, all you need for breakfast, BBQ’s, ice creams, treats, all sorts!
As always there will be wood available to purchase for campfires too, a very important part of the Flangestock experience.
Extra days camping can be booked either side of the weekend direct with the campsite, please explain you are a Flangestock ticket holder.

1st time for me at this laidback & intimate festy, held at the beautiful setting of Petrcane in Croatia. It had everything – aborted plane landings, messed up hire cars, 35 degree+ heat & sun every day, clear waters, boat parties up close with dj heroes and ’nuff bikini. Perfect! Pics & Video below….

In February Glue is just a few day’s after Valentine’s so we fully expect you all to turn up to show how much you love Glue, flowers and chocolates are optional but appreciated.
Heading up the party of love will be superstar DJ and world renowned Lothario The101Connection, a DJ who’s emerged from the breaks scene with a stomping style that mashes up hip hop, fu…nk and breaks into an all consuming beats monster. He played Glue in the summer and totalled rocked it, we’re expecting even better this time!
Helping to spread the romance and thumping beats is Collins 303 who’ll be tearing the place up with his usual wild abandon and KidChameleon who’ll get everyone hot under the collar with a mix of naughty little numbers.
And last but not least is our resident DJ and ladies’ favourite, bump, who will be dropping his usual mix of techno, acid house and deep beats – girls, form an orderly queue.
